We have the answer to the short friction zone. This kit fits all 1998 - 2008 650 cc Yamaha V Star Custom, Classic and Dragstar. This kit will actually widen your friction zone. It also allows you to move the friction zone closer to the hand grip where most riders prefer it to be, and softens the feel of the clutch which allows for more clutch control (especially helpful if you have small hands).
